About Square Wonton

Hi there!

You may be wondering who the hell is Square Wonton. Some of your questions might be answered on the What's What with Gaming Wonton page, but for those questions that are not answered you can read on!

Currently, I am almost finished getting my Bachelors in Business Administration for MIS (Management Information Systems). I have been in college forever. It's my own fault. I desperately wanted to be a graphic designer, but our graphic design program here sucks balls! Who paints nowadays in graphic design? Nobody. That's who. Oh, and my college's graphic design program.

I also decided to take a slow-down of college and work full-time for almost two years. As I am generally fully honest with myself and others, I do regret this decision. So much for living life without regrets. XD

In the course of being in college forever, I found a group of great people who like to game twice a week. Sunday night, you'll find me there (unless I have three tests the following week). These guys have opened up a whole world of amazing board games unlike your standard Monopoly, Risk, and Axis and Allies--which all have positive and negative attributes in their own way.

All of the Sunday night gaming group have molded me into the person I am today, which I thank each and every one for dearly. That is why I would like to share this part of me, the part these guys impacted, with you.

Many of these games originate from other parts of the world (a lot are from Germany). They range from super strategic, long-ass games to short, random, draw-a-tile-from-a-bag type games. All fun, all worth it.

Something I noticed is how much I hate learning games. You kind of need to learn a game in order to play it, though. Fortunately some of the group are willing to take the time to learn games for the group and teach it to the rest of us lazy bums (mainly me).

Through their time and effort, I have collected the knowledge of numerous super fun games that I plan on sharing with you.

Keep in mind, this blog is all my personal opinion and does not reflect the thoughts of any other entity or the game-makers themselves. /disclaimer

So why Square Wonton? Well, the real reason is as personal as this blog might be, I want to retain some anonymity. Sure, it may seem pointless at first, but I hope you will choose to share my site with your friends, friends of friends, and friends of friends thrice removed. The name Square Wonton itself was invented primarily for my creative endeavors. I fancy myself as a bit of a lyricist with something to say and share with the world. Square Wonton is the name of my one-man band that has yet to record anything.

Please enjoy my gaming thoughts and pass them along.
